Alluvial gold is the gold a river has already worked on: carried, knocked about and rounded off long before anyone finds it. That is the shape of this drop, smooth all over with no two curves the same.
It hangs forty-six millimetres from the top of the hoop, long enough to move when you turn your head. The huggie clicks shut, so the weight is carried by the hoop rather than by a post through the lobe.
