Pearl Care
Pearls go on last and come off first. Keep them away from perfume, hairspray and household cleaners. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth after each wear and store flat in a soft pouch rather than hanging.
Packaging
Every piece arrives in our signature gift-ready box, made from fully recyclable FSC-certified materials.
How We Grade a Pearl
Five qualities separate a good freshwater pearl from a great one, and they are the criteria we grade on ourselves.
Luster. The defining quality. A top-grade pearl returns light almost like a mirror, with crisp reflections rather than a soft haze.
Surface. Smooth, near-flawless nacre. Minor characteristics are natural in any real pearl; on our strands they are minimised, or hidden at the drill holes.
Shape. A truly round pearl rolls across a flat surface without wobbling.
Size. Measured across the pearl's widest point. Larger pearls are considerably rarer, because a pearl grows only as long as the mollusc keeps laying nacre.
Matching. In a strand, consistency matters as much as any single pearl — uniform colour, graduation and luster.
AAAA is the top of the freshwater scale, and it is where we source.
